Vote 3-0-1 with Mr. Cook abstaining
Signatures: Enforcement Order 59 Cove Road
The Agent stated the owner was given a draft copy of the Enforcement Order for 59 Cove
Road that the Commissioners will be signing this evening. Irene Wilson (AM Wilson &
Associates) represented the owner Mr. Harrison of 59 Cove Road and stated he has hired
them to comply with the Enforcement Order. Mr. Harrison has cut down some trees and it is
clear he had no intention of hiding what he was doing because he cut the stumps 18 to 12
inches above the ground. He was involved with something similar in 2012. He has not done
any damage to the root mat. The materials that are in the cover are green briar and
huckleberry which sprouts pretty much by themselves. Her recommendation is to wait until the
spring to see what comes up and if there are areas that are bare, we will consult with the
Agent and come up with a plan as to what needs to be planted. The Agent stated Mrs.
Wilson's assessment seems like a good approach and speaking with the homeowner, he said
the reason for the tree removal was because of storm damage. The Agent noted the
homeowner had previously been notified by our department that our department needs to be
notified before any tree removal. He stated the Commissioners will have an enforcement order
to sign at the end of the meeting.
John (Jack) Fitzsimmons: Memorial Ideas (Former Chair of the Conservation
Commission)
