*DRAFT* 7
Board of Selectmen
Minutes
March 11, 2019
OLD BUSINESS
Discussion of Retail Marijuana Host Community Agreements Recommendations: (continued)
The following applications were recommended;
CCE CAT LLC, 800 Falmouth Road (Summerfield Park)
TripleM, 29 & 41 Echo Road
CCC Mashpee Holdings LLC, 77 Echo Road
Holistic Health Group, 439 Nathan Ellis Highway (Route 15 1)
Matthew Stokey LLC, 439 Nathan Ellis Highway (Route 15 1)
Discussion followed with respect to this regard. Rodney C. Collins, Town Manager informed
the Board that this topic was discussed with Town Counsel, and based on content of the agenda
topic the Board of Selectmen has the ability to move forward with their selection. It was noted
the working group has recommended that thorough traffic studies be required on any applicant
prior to receiving special permit granting authority.
As per statute, the Board of Selectmen has preference to make a recommendation to the
Cannabis Control Commission. And, the Town would have the discretion to send more than(1)
host agreement recommendation to the state.
Discussion followed. It was determined the Board of Selectmen would send one
recommendation to the Cannabis Control Commission. It was agreed the candidates have
provided good quality applications. TripleM, the existing Registered Medical Marijuana
Dispensary was favored as they have been operating efficiently, and have hired local residents.
It was noted the TripleM establishment was shut down for a brief period by the Department of
Public Health for pesticide use in their product.
TripleM was noted to have a good track record and a history of performance with obligations
being met. All background checks have been completed.
There were favorable recommendations for CCE CAT LLC. The site location in Summerfield
Park with proposed retail parking is already a developed site within the Industrial Park with
existing businesses in the surrounding area. The applicant is a businessman within the Town of
Mashpee and this is an opportunity for the Town to support a local business in the community.
In considering the traffic and business that is generated from retail marijuana sales, the site is
deemed advantageous to Route 130 which is already impacted with travel.
