Mark Burtis Shellfish Grant Project Outline, <br /> Shellfish will be raised from seed to market size using multiple methods of grow out, On <br /> bottom and off bottom grow out will be implementer using grow out trays, bags,floating gear, <br /> cages and offsite approved land based upweller,Ten 16 inch yellow buoys will be used to mark <br /> site boundaries, plus 4 in the middle of lengths A, B, D and E per request of the Waterway <br /> commission to enhance visibility, Access on and offsite will be from boats, a work barge will be <br /> used for culling and cleaning, Please see gear distribution figure 3, <br /> Our goals are to cultivate from seed and bring to market 3 million oysters and 2 million <br /> quahogs, to create a sustainable and positive impact on the reduction of nitrogen in the <br /> estuary, create jobs, and maintain a safe and healthy market of locally grown shellfish to the <br /> community,We will incorporate Best Management Practices developed by SEMAC into our <br /> daily grant operation to adhere to state and local regulations, <br />
