1 <br /> ADMINISTRATIVE MEETING <br /> December 7 , 1982 at 9 :00 a.m. <br /> PRESENT: Chairwoman B. Jean Thomas , Selectman Chester A. Garland, Executive <br /> Secretary Joseph F. Murphy. Fire Chief Priestly and Police Chief <br /> Fry were called. They arrived at 10 :55 a.m. <br /> 1. ) The memo from Chairwoman Thomas on the Wiljoles Land Advisory Committee <br /> was informational . Chm. Thomas stated that it was just an organizational <br /> type of thing. <br /> 2 . ) Executive Secretary explained that he had sent a letter to Mr. Kistin, <br /> Falmouth Conservation, regarding the sale of cranberries from the cran- <br /> berry bogs , and that the Town was expecting the same as last year. <br /> Executive Secretary also informed the Board that Mr. Arthur Handy had <br /> called and asked if the Selectmen would be available on Friday, at one <br /> p.m. to see what improvements are needed. Executive Secretary said he <br /> would be going. Board will try to go. Executive Secretary said they <br /> will be meeting at the entrance to John' s Pond Estates . <br /> 3:) Board discussed the memo from Executive Secretary regarding license fees . <br /> After reviewing the summary of fees the Board decided to adopt column <br /> four and to present the figures in column five to Town Meeting. Board <br /> also discussed fees for yard sales , flea markets , and mobil homes, for <br /> emergency purposes . Board recommends request wording from Town Counsel <br /> for mobile homes . <br /> I <br /> 4 . ) On the calendar draft for the Finance Committee the Board felt that the <br /> Executive Secretary had done a good job . Chm. Thomas said that speaking <br /> of calendars , a calendar should be sent to all departments wishing every- <br /> one good health to them and their families . <br /> 5 . ) On the memo from Fire Chief Priestly requesting permission to use the <br /> Chief' s car to travel back and forth from his home, the Board denied <br /> the request and suggested Chief Priestly get a portable light for his <br /> own vehicle. <br /> 6 . ) Board reviewed the memo from Chief Priestly relating to Gordon Peters <br /> as a mechanic . Board suggests that when Mr. Gordon goes to a fire, he <br /> is a call fireman, and should be paid as such. When Mr. Gordon works <br /> on vehicles in the station he should be considered a mechanic and should <br /> be paid mechanic wages . <br /> i <br /> 7. ) Board discussed the old U.S .O. building. Chm. Thomas explained that <br /> the committee to renovate the building is getting ready to ask the Town' s <br /> help in sending an application for a grant. She also said that they <br /> have a lawyer helping them and that the Board should support them. <br /> Board agreed that if they brought in a pre-application the Town would <br /> submit it. <br /> 8. ) Board discussed the letter from Mr. and Mrs . Charles M. Sholder relating <br /> to the drainage problem they have on Mayflower Road. Executive Secretary <br /> to send letter to Sholders informing them that nothing can be done at <br /> this time and that the runoff from their driveway seems to have aggri- <br /> vated the situation as well as their addition. <br />
