The Army Corps of Engineers has funding for a
feasibility study of removing some bottom sediment that doesn't harm the ecology. They received
funding for that and they are working how to implement that with the town and the tribe. It is now to a
point of a study. The basic plan is to take some of the phosphorous sediment out and put it in some of
the old bogs so it ties into the bog restoration. Drew McManus noted they need to be careful how the
Wetland Protection Act applies to it. He said he feels the whole reason of using them on site is to save
them the cost of trucking them off. Katelyn said this is a two-year study and the data collected is only
going to be good for three years. It was suggested to put the Pond and Estuary Water Quality on future
agendas.
3
