Mashpee Waterways ommis ion July 14,2009 <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> The meeting was called to order by Chairman Iden Bates at 9:02 All in Meeting Room ,Mashpee Town <br /> Hall. <br /> Present: Ken Bates,Gerry Daly,Tim Leedham,Al wiekel, Steve Pinard,Bill Taylor <br /> Not in Attendance: Perry Ellis <br /> Others in attendance: flick York <br /> Motion to approve the,lune 9,2009 Meeting minutes,as amended,was made by Gerry Daly, seconded by <br /> Bill Taylor,and was unanimously approved. <br /> Chairman Iden Bates called for the election of waterways Commission Offices for the 2009-2010 Term. <br /> The following officers were unanimously approved: <br /> Chairman-Iden Bates <br /> Vice Chairman-Steve Pinard <br /> Secretary-Al Wickel <br /> The Waterways Commission Member List was updated to reflect the new terms of Tim Leedham(2 012) <br /> and Al Wi kel(2012) <br /> .letter will be sent by the Secretary to the Board of Selectmen requesting approval of the Commission's <br /> renewal ofthe Terms of Tim Leedham and Al Wickel as well as advising them ofthe Commission Officers <br /> for the upcoming year. <br /> Committee Reports <br /> Harbormaster Report: no report <br /> Shellfish Constable Report: Rick York reported on the condition of the shellfish beds as well as <br /> the recent observations on algae growth and bloom in Mashpee bays and estuaries. <br /> Fresh water/M shp e-wakeby Lake Management Committee: Bill Taylor reported that the water <br /> levels were being maintained at 55.5" � <br /> Pppnesett Bay: Tire Leedharn reported that traffic was heavy during the 4thof July period. <br /> Tim noted that algae appears to be very hear . During the past weekend's water Quality testing,the <br /> anchor on the test boat was very difficult to set due to the algae. <br /> waquoit Bay: no report <br /> Sewer Commission Advisory Committee;No report <br /> Barnstable County Coastal Resource Committee- Gerry Daly-no report. <br /> Water Quality: Steve Pinard reported that the Mashpee Water Quality Test Team hit the waters on <br /> Sunday morning during poor weather. A successful effort all around as all boat crews were able t <br /> complete their tests. The next Test Day is scheduled to be July 2 <br />
