It was noted that the Army Corps has said no to a 2'd <br /> opening in the Spit. <br /> Public access— Seeonsett---.Terry will follow up on that project. <br /> The DEP had no,response to the second letter. <br /> Falmouth Dredging in waquoit Bay—Jing gave Greg (Falmouth Harbormaster) a plan <br /> shoving disposal sites for their dredging project. South Cape Beach is preferred. <br /> Mashpee River Dredging Project—Status quo.. <br /> Cape wide towns—Fisheries report for dredging restrictions. A committee was formed to <br /> try to work out the inequity of new restricted dredging dates for the Commonwealth. <br /> letter with support data was drafted by the committee and was seat out to Cape and Island <br /> towns so that they could sign on in a group to combat the new dredging dates. The <br /> committee would like to see the state go hack to the original dates unless the State has <br /> detailed data for each and every estuary or channel that is affected by the restrictive dates. <br /> It was noted that some of the bags would enol up choked offwith fish kills, shellfish kills, <br /> , <br /> navigation problems and loss of flushing which could cost the Cape and Islands in excess <br /> of o, o, 00. <br /> M ti n—The Waterways Commission will dra.ft an email to the town noting our <br /> unanimous support to the letter in circulation. Motion made by Ken Bates, 2' by,Jerry <br /> Daly. <br /> New v Business— Shellfish grant# —waquoit Bay—Richard Kuus l —His second 1 <br /> year grant expired in February. He is applying for a new grant and hopes to use never <br /> technologies. Details of bounds and final location of grant area will be worked out with <br /> Rick York. This grant will be known as South Cape Shellfish Farm. All state paperwork <br /> is up to date with seeds VS productivity. This is a bottom culture faun. The proposed new <br /> technology is Bags 18"off the bottom. Mr Kuusela noted there was bard equipment near <br /> the surface that could impact navigation. Applicant will work with all <br /> agencies departments. He does not want problems.down the road. what is the correct <br /> distance from the shore? There are no other grants in the area. He will present waterways <br /> with a new plan slowing all soundings and waterways will add their commentary to the <br /> plan.
