'Mashpee Waterways Commission <br /> Meeting Minutes for November 12,2008 Meeting <br /> Meeting called to order by Chairman Ken Bates at 9:25 Al <br /> at the Mashee Toa Hail, <br /> meeting room #3 . <br /> Members present: Ken Bates, Perry Ellis, Gerry Daly, BiliTaylor, Steve Pinard <br /> Members absent: Tim Leedham <br /> Also in attendance: Rick York, Shellfish Constable <br /> Motion: Steve Pinard, seconded by Gerry Daly, accept the <br /> minutes of the October 14, <br /> 2008 meeting as corrected was unanimously a roved . <br /> Old Business <br /> Iden Bates noted that he received correspondence regarding � <br /> g g a"Sand ref Fence" system, <br /> earlier this year and that he forwarded the information the conservation Commission in <br /> May. Recently Ken Bates received information that the stem • <br /> was successfully used� <br /> Truro, MA and for them had been a good solution for beach erosion. den dates <br /> forwarded this new information to the l ash ee Board of Selectman via Ms Mason. <br /> A presentation was then made by John Chapman, Seniorro'ec <br /> � t 1lanager, and Sarah <br /> Hamm, Coastal geologist of Ocean and Coastal Consultants Inc. With offices in <br /> Plymouth, and based in New Jersey, the Company provided <br /> a wide array of dredging and <br /> consulting services to the Northeast area including Cape Cod and the Islands. The <br /> Company expressed interest in bidding on future dredge projects. <br /> Ken Bates announced the establishment of new Committee - <br /> Committees, and re-alignment of current <br /> Committees,ittees, and member assignments as follows: <br /> -Dredge Date/State—Ken Bates <br /> -Barnstable County Coastal Resources-Ge Dal <br /> -Barnstable Count Coastal Dred e Adio Committee-Perry Ellis, Bill Tailor <br /> (alternate) <br /> -Maintenance Q1LdX,.in -Perry Bilis, Bili Taylor <br /> -Fresh Water- to be assigned) <br /> -Popponesset a —Ferry Ellis <br /> -Waciuoit Bay-Perry Ellis <br /> -Personnel—Tiny Leedham, Steve Pinard, Ken Bates <br /> Committee Reports <br /> Dredsze Dates/State-Ken Bates reported on the status of meetings held nth the <br /> State regarding the reduced dredge slate windows recently announced by the Mate. The <br /> reduced date windows seriously impact many Cape Cod and <br /> p island dredge needs and <br /> projects. A recent meeting with the State was received well and the target date for the <br /> next meeting is early December. <br />
