He also described the safety issue that resulted this summer from the sailing school <br /> course that was set up in the planing channel. Perry advised that if it happened again, it would <br /> be dealt with. <br /> Waquolt Bay Area—Jim Ranh <br /> Jim Hanks said that the Waquoit Bay area had quieted down considerably. <br /> County Dredge Advisory Meeting—William Taylor <br /> Bill reported that there was no meeting. <br /> Waterways By-laws and Regulations—Jim Hams <br /> No Activity. <br /> Water Quality Update—.dim Hanks <br /> Jim reported that there had been no meeting of the Pilot Project. Sever Commission Citizens Advisory Committee—Paul Lumsden <br /> Jim Hanks attended the Sewer Comrru*ssion meeting on Paul's behalf,where Nate weeks from <br /> Steams and wheler presented the results of a demonstration project conducted for Barnstable <br /> County. fart of the presentation was re-capping the results of the Popponesset Bay nitrogen <br /> thresholds report from SNIAS T, thea there was a description of the alternative types of surer <br /> designs, their pros and cons, and where they apply. 'Then followed a demonstration of the sewer <br /> modeling software.ware. This software makes it easy to design sewer systems on an aerial photo <br /> image, and calculates the elevations, length of pipe segments, and otherp ararneters. <br /> Results of the demo showed approximately 70 miles of sewer costing $250 to $350 per linear <br /> foot would be needed. That data., of course, only applies to the demonstration as many of the <br /> assumptions going into the exercise may or may not reflect reality. The last part of the <br /> presentation showed the results of the USGS groundwater modeling effort given several scenarios <br /> for re-injecting the treated wastewater back into the ground.. <br /> Page <br />
