Jim Hanks provided a status update. <br /> . Review of Minutes— The rinutes from 5 August 2003 were reviewed. Herb Silver moved <br /> they be accepted as written. Jinn Hanks seconded the motion. The motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> 1. Harbormaster Report—Perry Ellis - Perry Ellis noted that Labor Day (September 181) narked <br /> the end of the most active part of the boating season. August was very busy with lots of boating <br /> activity. He said that there were many boating accidents this year, including a vatersliing <br /> accident on Santuit Pond the previous day. Perry provided an update regarding the woman who <br /> was seriously injured in rmd-August while training at 35 mph on a personal watercraft in <br /> Poppneset Bay. She will survive, said Perry, but it required 82 pins and screws to reattach her <br /> face which had hit a mooring chwon. <br /> Perry stated that national statistics show 0% of all boating accidents are with personal <br /> watercraft. He suggested that there be a required -hour, safety course for personal watercraft <br /> use. He also noted that personal watercraft are now being manufactured with -stroke engines in <br /> order to reduce oil and gas leakage. 5 <br /> Page 1 of <br />
