Public Comment: Ed Baker presented signs reading"'Stop Aquatic Hitchhikers,, that could <br /> be used to increase public awareness about the dangers of invasive species in ponds. (The <br /> Waterways Commission provided the signs to Harbormaster Perry Ellis for possible use at <br /> Mashpee ponds.) Ed Baker also requested to hear about the stags of the Mashpee River <br /> Dredging project,which he was assured would be covered later in the meeting. <br /> . Review of Minutes—The minutes from I June 2004 were reviewed. Jinn Hanks moved <br /> they be accepted as written, Paul Lumsden seconded the motion.The motion carried <br /> unanimously, <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> 1. Harbormaster Report—berry Ellis <br /> Perry reported the following: <br /> All Harbormaster boats are in the water. <br /> Cape Cod Power Sports has offered to provide a personal watercraft to the'down of Mashpee for <br /> use by the Harbormaster for patrols. <br /> July 3rd,the Saturday of Independence.day weekend,was the busiest day that Perry had ever <br /> seen on the water in Mashpee. July 4 water traffic was about %less than July P. <br /> The Harbormaster had patrols out on July and 4th. Both bays were covered as well as all boat <br /> ramps. 100 shops were made for informational purposes. <br /> Kids without lifejackets is a habitual problem in Popponesset Bay. <br /> There was one boat collision due to pilot inattention on Ockway Bay. It resulted in a broken arm <br /> for one person. <br /> 2. Shellfish Constable Re or —Lick York--Rick was unable to make the meeting.
