a>?* Cot; .9.-d <br /> -- - Town o)cmashpee . <br /> r <br /> Waterways Commis' s w* n <br /> Great Neck Road <br /> North <br /> ,V�shpee, MA 02649 <br /> MASHEE WATERWAYS COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES MARCH 7F 1995 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Bennett Gordon, Dan Homeyer,, Jim Hanks, <br /> Don Lund., Herb Silver, Fred -Fordham. <br /> Perry Ellis, Harbormaster, was absent dine to an emergency. <br /> CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 7: 09 p.m. <br /> PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD.w None. <br /> * ACCEPTANCE OF MINUTES: The Minutes of February ry '7, 1995 were <br /> accepted, <br /> Mr. Hoeyer asked Dr. Gordon if he received a notice from Judy <br /> Mills re: Executive Session; Dr, Gordon started he did not receive <br /> anything, and further added that Waterways has nearer gone into <br /> Executive Session. <br /> Bili. McKay was present to discuss the 125th Anniversary boat <br /> parade. He stated that the permit needs to be acquired from <br /> the Coast Guard, and at few auxiliary personnel have volunteered <br /> to come to the parade, Mr. McKay is trying to keep 'things <br /> simple. He He renamed the parade to he a "cruise. !' The plan is <br /> to gather at Waquoit Day at 11: 00 a.m. and 20 to 25 boats will <br /> go out and along the new beach and tack back.. The remaining <br /> boats will travel along 'Popponesset. Still pending is inviting <br /> dignitaries i.e.. Tom athir ,- establishing whose vessel they - <br /> will board, and where will they be picked up; invitations should <br /> go out soon. The event is planned for July It (weather <br /> permitting) . Mr. Silver asked if there would be a contest as <br /> n incentive to bring' boats out, and Mr, McKay. stated no contest <br /> has been planned. Mr. McKay would like to get at video of the <br /> .cruise for the schools and l i-hrary. Mr. Silver asked about <br /> publicity and media coverage, and Mr. McKay a.y stated that at public <br /> announcement will be made. Dr. Gordon stated that it would = <br /> he nice to have prizes, and Mr. M I aty. started that we would then- <br /> need criteria to jud.ge vessels as well as l edges. -Dr. Gordon <br /> suggested delivering handouts to boats in the harbor with <br /> , invitations. Dr. Gordon extended an invitation to Mr. McKay <br /> to attend , a.ter ,ratys meetings to give updates on this. event.. <br /> The John' s Pond Ski Team representatives were present to give <br />
