+rte MASHES WATERWAYS GOIM I S S I Gly <br /> MINUTES JULY 3t 1995 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Ben Gordon, Jim Hanks , Herb Silver, <br /> Fred Fordham, Darn flomeyer. <br /> Don Lund arrived at 8: 30 . <br /> Also Present: Perry Ellis, Harbormaster <br /> Rick York, Shellfish Warden <br /> Donna Homeyer <br /> CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 7: 00 p,m, <br /> PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD: None* <br /> MINUTES: The Minutes of June 8 , 1995 were unanimously approved. <br /> 125th ANNIVERSARY PARADE: Mr . Silver stated the winners were: <br /> lst Ben Gordon, 2nd Albert and Corinne Wickell 3rd Michael Horne. <br /> Prizes included ( 1st) 4 rounds of golf and ( 2nd/3rd) 2 seats <br /> to the 125th Pops Concert on July 29th. There was a fog problem, <br /> and one boat went aground ( Silver) and one was towed (McKay) . <br /> The video will be ready next week. There were a total of to-1 <br /> boats in the parade. <br /> REVIEW of BOATING BROCHURE HANDOUTS STATUS: Copies are being <br /> made of boating brochures and supplement. The boobs are in, <br /> and one evening there will be a stuffing party. Perry will <br /> talk to Marilyn Farren to get a floater to help with the <br /> stuffing. Dan Hoeyer and Herb Silver will help with this <br /> effort. <br /> HARBORMASTER REPORT: Harbormaster signs are still net in, <br /> 90B will be printed at the bottom o the signs. Everything <br /> is done through Atlantis Sign at a cost of $175 each. The <br /> printing of the pamphlets will come out of Harbormaster ' s budget <br /> for 96 ' . The pu p ut boat was delivered. Patrols have been <br /> good, presently Perry is working on adding a 3rd person for <br /> better coverage (per his Memo to the Selectmen June 26 , 1995 ) 4 <br /> using Waterways Improvement Funds. Rather than writing tickets , <br /> Assistant Harbormasters should take information and issue a <br /> ticket through certified mail * Perry gees not have ticket books <br /> yet to issue. Perry and Mr. Hanks will talk to the new police <br /> chief about getting ticket books and ID cards for Assistant <br /> Harbormasters. A handout was distributed re: DEP' s proposal <br /> for simplified permitting for small residential docks and piers ; <br /> hearings will be held throughout July. Perry will be meeting <br /> with the Coast Guard re: buoys for navigation. Perry would <br /> like channel markers in Popponesset. We are . ordering one new <br /> buoy. <br />
