�ELL 'IR CONSTABLE REPORT Rick York brought codes of Mashpee <br /> Shellfish regulations , Daps , and Dass . DMF Shellfish Finfish <br /> Restrictions. To date 500 shellfish permits have been sold, <br /> 1130 was the yearly record, and we may exceed this. Rick noted <br /> that work on a guhg seed program will be handled through a <br /> JTEC summer youth grant. The sites chosen are Great River and <br /> Popponesset, we also received $2 , 500 for scallop seeds that <br /> were released in waquoit. A tank was donated which can hold <br /> sr al.l' shellfish for a nursery system. The goal is to double <br /> the number of quohogs. He is also trying oysters in a racy► <br /> this is at pilot scale. The water quality is clean except for <br /> Falmouth. Shellfish volunteers are helping to get the seed <br /> out. An article appeared in The Enterriseion oyster and scallop <br /> propagation. <br /> COUNTY DREDGE STATUS: Mr. Silver reported he met with Mr. <br /> roet ke, but it appears the permit process will have to be <br /> restarted. He distributed a handout showing the Commissions <br /> and agencies involved for the dredging permit process ( 13 were <br /> noted) . Mr. Hanks postponed this discussion. <br /> SUB C014MITTEE REPORTS <br /> INLAND WATERWAYS: Mr. Homeyer reported very busy. There is <br /> a new dock and speed boat. A question was raised whether a <br /> permit was issued for #651 Turner floating dock. <br /> PooESSET- A : Dr, Gordon reported it very busy, he counted <br /> 200 boats. The planing channel in ockway has not been marked, <br /> and they are sorely need. Perry stated the Federal Marshall <br /> is coming to evaluate the situation. The Coast Guard will not <br /> license Mashpee markers as legal. Perry also stated that putting <br /> more markers in is trying to mark a channel that does not exist <br /> ( therefore they are illegal. markers ) , Mr, Homeyer recommended <br /> pulling the markers and go along with the Coast Guard. A sign <br /> on Ockway Bay stating use at your own risk might be more <br /> appropriate. Perry will install a bigger marker in front of <br /> Herb Silver' s. <br /> WA UGIT BAY: Mr. Fordham reported lots of boat traffic; <br /> . Assistant Harbormaster doing at good job. <br /> -LAWS: Mr, Silver reported that Bob whritenour needs at status <br /> report for their attorneys who want us to adopt certain <br /> regulations that 90B does not cover. The Articles are due August. <br /> 17th. Mr. Silver will call Bobon Wednesday tolling him an <br /> attempt is being made. Herb called a sub committee meeting <br /> at his house 124 Summersea road on Wednesday, 1 : 00 .m. <br /> motion was made, seconded, and unanimously voted in favor <br /> of the sub committee reporting to the Selectmen ghat we want f <br /> on Town Warrant re: regulations to be voted at the fall town <br /> meeting. <br /> -2- <br />
