MASEPEE WATERWAYS COMMI SIOld <br /> MINUTES DECEMBER 4F 199 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Tim Hanks, Ben Gordon, Herb Silver, <br /> Dori Lund, Dain Home e r, William Rowland. <br /> Also present: Perry Ellis, Harbormaster <br /> Rick York, Shellfish Constable <br /> CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 7; 05 p.m. <br /> PUBLIC C MMENT: Dan Homeyer distributed handouts re: drinking <br /> and recreational boating for informational purposes as promised <br /> f prom the last meeting, <br /> MINUTES: Minutes of November 6 , 1995 were accepted as written. <br /> Mr. Hares reported there will be a Planning Board Public Hearin <br /> Wednesday, December 6, 1995 at 6: 45 p.m. at Town Mall which <br /> he plans to attend. There is also a special. informational � <br /> meeting/forum on the Open Meeting Law sponsored by the Ma h ee <br /> League of voters to be held at the Coombs School on the sane <br /> nicht at 7: 00 p.m. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> Harbormaster Report: Mr. Ellis reported that almost all of <br /> the boats are out of the water, Mr. Ellis stopped a speeder <br /> today who had no ID numbers , no life preservers , and no safety <br /> equipment aboard; he was issued a warning. one illegal concrete <br /> block mooring was pulled. Ed Norton' s sailboat mast broke, <br /> and the boat were up. ori the beach due to faulty mooring; he <br /> ill not have a mooring for the next two � <br /> rears Mr. Ells is <br /> working on a grant for $3, 000 under Coastal Pathways. A <br /> materials list 'is waiting with DPW. We already have $5, 000 <br /> and $3, 000 is anticipated to ' be used for parking, steps, and <br /> stabilizing ars erosion bank in Shoestring Bay. Mr. Ellis is <br /> also working on the dune restoration project at South Beach <br /> Parking lot; the plans are to install a snow fence and vegetate <br /> the dunes to create a soft structure dune to slow down the <br /> erosion process. Dr. Gordon asked how that relates to the <br /> Harbormaster' s job description, and Mr. Ellis stated that the <br /> parking lot is coastal access to the town. Mr. Hanks stated <br /> that Mr. Ellis is Chairman of the Coastal Resource Management <br /> ent <br /> Committee, and he has the license to do this. Dr. Gordon asked <br /> that the buoys at Little River be secured to avoid theft; Mr. <br /> York offered to help Mr. Ellis move them.. Mr. Ellis reported <br /> on the statins of the dock reviews, stating that Devoe's was <br /> fine from a navigational standpoint, and Whiteman' s has gore <br /> back to DEP Waterways because of the neighbors ' letters. Mr. <br /> Ellis received a letter from the Mate DEP Waterways Jeff <br /> Leonard thanking hien and Waterways Commission for their letter <br />
