Page 2 Town Hall Building Committee Minutes April 14, 1997 REPORT OF THE ARCHITECT: Cade Violations: Correspondence was received from William Hauck, Inspector of Buildings dated April 7,and April 8, 1997 relative to code violations pertaining to the Town Hall renovation project. (enclosed) Mr.Hoit indicated that he has submitted response to the Building Inspector, and will arrange a separate meeting with Mr.Hauck to further address any compliance issues. In addition,Mr. Hoit submitted communication to the Committee dated April 14, 1997 in response to matters of concern presented at the Building Committee meeting of April 9, 1997. (enclosed) Construction Schedule: Mr. Hoit indicated that he received a verbal commitment from D'Agostino Associates to begin the final construction process on Tuesday, April 22, 1997. In the event written confirmation is not received by Tuesday,April 15, 1997 by 4:00 p.m.,Mr.Hoit recommended the Committee direct the Architect to order D'Agostino Associates to work on April 22, 1997, and immediately notify Town Counsel of this action. Motion made by Mr. Martini to authorize Roger Hoit to exercise his responsibility under the terms of the general contract, and order D'Agostino Associates to work on April 22, 1997 if written confirmation is not received by April 15, 1997 by 4:00 p.m., and notify Town Counsel of such action. Motion seconded by Mr. Fox. VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. Mr. Hoit was requested to notify Chairman Vaccaro of any pending action. The Board of Selectmen voted in unanimous support of the above. Basement: Mr. Hoit indicated that he is presently reviewing options to develop a solution to correct the basement area for use as active dry space. He will discuss compliance alternatives with the Building Inspector. Recess: 2:40 p.m. Meeting Resumed: 2:45 p.m.
