Page 1 <br /> Torun HaU Building Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> March 2 , 1997 <br /> Present: Jing Vaccaro, Ray Martini, Charles Buckingham <br /> Executive Secretary Robert Whritenour <br /> Assistant Executive Secretary Joyce Mason <br /> Absent: Bob Fox <br /> Guests: roger Holt - Strekalovsky and Holt, Inc. <br /> Cynthia Sturges - Community Development Administrator <br /> Bill Hauck- Inspector of Buildings <br /> Greg Taylor- Director of Public Works <br /> Kenneth Marsters - Board of Selectmen liaison <br /> Meeting galled to Oder by Chairman Vaccaro at 2: 0 p.m. <br /> Town Hall, Meeting Room #1. <br /> REPORT OF,THE ARCHrMCT: <br /> Roger Holt,Project Architect for the Town Hall renovation restoration <br /> project was present to discuss the construction progress with members of <br /> the Town Hall Building Committee, <br /> Greg'Taylor,Director of Public works presented a proposal to the <br /> Committee relative to the enhancement of the landscape design of the <br /> Town Hall facility. (enclosed) <br /> Mr.Taylor suggested the Conuru*ttee consider removing the existing <br /> shrubbery around the perimeter of the building, and plant two holly trees <br /> to enhance and define the front entrance of the Town Hall facility. <br /> To further delineate the front entrance,Mr. Taylor recommended to <br /> designate the two front spaces to the left of the entrance for handicap and <br /> general delivery parking only. <br /> The Department of Public Works was directed by the Committee to <br /> plant two American holly trees to define and enhance the front entrance <br /> of the Town Hall facility. Mr. Taylor was also requested to remove <br /> all existing shrubbery around the perimeter of the building as recommended. <br /> In an effort to provide a more pleasing appearance to the rear of the Town <br /> Hall facility,Mr. Taylor recommended the Cor m tree consider extending <br /> the loam and sod area around the exterior planters. <br /> Upon removal of the existing oil tank, and demolition of the Portable <br /> office unit,Mr. Taylor stated that his department could begin the general <br /> landscape and repair process. <br />
