 t f
{ STREKALOVSKY & HOIT, INC. A. I. A. ARCHITECTS
1 NORTH STREET, HING A , MA 02043 (617) 749-41 FAX (617) 740-4279
January 22, 1997
Mr. William Hauck,, Inspector of Buildings
Town of Iashpee
6 Great Neck Fuad North
Mashpee, MA 02649
Dear Mr. Hauck:
Fie; Additions &Renovations, Mashpee Town lull
The Lower Level space designated as Storage is not designed as a"habitable or
occupiable' space. Consequently, it is our interpretation that the space does not need to
comply with the ceiling height requirement of the Massachusetts State Building Code. The
space is suitable for Storage and is built with a concrete slab on grade. It is mechanically
heated and cooled with independent thermostats, is planned to be sprinkled and is
equipped with smoke detectors, lighting and fire alarm pull station and signaling device.
Asou know, the mechanical lift designed for the space was deferred during the
y
construction as a cost saving measure. There are two points of entry, one from the
exterior and one at Stair leo. 3. We hope this information clarifies the Storage space
requirements.
Very truly yours,
SST OVSK
Roger oitY&HOIT, A T CTS
do
