Mr. Tilton reported that CCSWAC met with waste
Management and E.L. Harvey regarding proposals and an additional meeting was planned to
discuss more detailed proposals. waste Management discussed a rail haul to Virginia, haul to
their own site and/or a pick up at a regional transfer station. B.L. Harvey would identify price
proposals for towns to haul their waste to their site in Westborough, as well as a pick-up in each
town or regionally. The two companies were interested in establishing short term contracts, such
as ten or twenty years, since it would be less costly. Both companies expressed interest in
recycling but waste Management stated that they would need to know the aggregate amount
available. E.L. Harvey was in the process of developing a single stream facility over the next
couple of years in Westborough. Discussions were also expected with Bourne and SEMASS.
1
