MASHPEE TOWN HILL BUILDING COMMITTEE <br /> Minutes for <br /> April 13, g95 <br /> Members Present: Jim Vaccaro, Ray Martini, Bob 1l hritenour, C.L. Architects <br /> The meeting of the ll ashpee Town Half Building Committee was called to order by Jiro <br /> Vaccaro at 3:40 p.m. on April 13, 1995. <br /> As this was the first official meeting, no previous minutes were reviewed. <br /> Jim asked for discussion regarding selecting a chairperson for this committee. He <br /> suggested himself as an interim chairperson until the Torun meeting. At that time, it <br /> would be determined if this committee would be approved to continue its function and, if <br /> so, a permanent chairperson would be selected. After a brief discussion, Charlie <br /> Buckingham motioned t elect Jim Vaccaro to the chairmanship of the 11 ashpee <br /> Town Hall Building a rami ee. C.L. Nae elin seconded the m ti ni-which was <br /> carried by a unanimous vote. '`w•*kJ.._ <br /> ,Jim stated that he thinks that they may have some problems in obtaining funding <br /> approval for the proposed renovation/restoration of the Torn Hall. He had received a <br /> latter from the CIP Committee requesting a Committee member's presence at the next <br /> CIP Committee meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, April 19, 1995, at 4.00 p.m. He <br /> stated that the CIP Committee had requested their presence in order to obtain more <br /> information regarding the funding requirements for the proposed renovation/restoration. <br /> Bob Whritenour stated some of the possible objections for funding that he had heard <br /> about, including the concern for preserving the historical integrity of the Town Hall <br /> building. He specifically noted the proposed renovation to the front entrance and stated <br /> that he believes there was concern that this renovation might compromise the historical <br /> integrity of the front entrance. He suggested that perhaps the Committee aright grant <br /> to re-evaluate the proposed renovation to this area. There was a brief discussion held <br /> on' ghat constitutes a building being deemed historical. The Committee determined <br /> that considering the building had been the first schoolhouse built that is still standing, it <br /> did indeed have some historical value. A discussion was thea held to suggest other <br /> possible renovation alternatives to the front entrance. The Committee took a trip <br /> outside of the building in order to vier the entrance. Bob reviewed the proposed <br /> renovation with the members and a discussion was held regarding the possible <br /> alternatives. <br /> After returning inside to the meeting room, ,Jim asked Brett Donharn what the <br /> approximate costs would be if the proposed renovation/restoration phases were <br />
