Project Address: 548 Falmouth Road-Mobil Gas Station (continued)
Committee Comments
Miles Peters said this would set a precedent with internally lit signs in Mashpee
and he doesn't like that idea.
Miles noted that the field of blue is excessive. Carolyn Parker said they could
reduce the size and colors of the sign.
Miles said there is a lot of red color inside the dispensing area. Carolyn said they
could drop the koala. Miles said that would clean it up. He said the big Synergy
signs are a bit much. He said the directional signs are fine. Mike said the
Synergy blade signs are 40" and the pump is 48". Carolyn said she will check
with her customer about making them smaller. Jonathan Furbush responded
that would be great.
Miles said a smaller sign is nicer. Carolyn said they can lower the setting of
brightness to "T'. Miles said illuminates are difficult to determine without going to
the location and measuring with a meter. Carolyn said it is all commercial in that
area at the Rotary.
Mike Mendoza said ... just to confirm, your customer is willing to reduce the size
of the panel and there's a possibility that just the word and numbers could be
colored and the rest opaque.
Joshua Spencer said the signs are fine just definitely recommend smaller size;
do not need koala or number of wedges, so get rid of these and maybe then
keep the Synergy sign. He offered this suggestion as a compromise. Both Joe
Cummings and Jonathan Furbush agreed with this compromise suggestion.
Carolyn said she will make this proposal to her customer.
Joe Cummings said he would agree to the LED as long as it's not too bright and
has the rheostat switch and no more than 100 illuminates per square foot.
Jonathan Furbush said he is set with all that was discussed. He said to confirm:
rheostat switch; no koalas; stay with the blades, but lose the wedges; also
maximum 100 illuminates per square foot.
2
