This would
relocate the labs from the Police Department. Richard York added that the building is not for boat storage,
but rather for aquaculture gear and will provide a place to work inside year round rather than outside. Andrew
Gottlieb asked how much for the "tight tank" to which Ms. Laurent responded about $20,000 and that the
Building Commissioner requires a "tight tank" for this project. Mr. Gottlieb asked what repairs, or oil changes,
etc, would be done in the building? Rick York said all but no parking of a vehicle is allowed overnight in this
type of building to which Catherine further stated that a Garage/Storage building has to be in compliance with
commercial codes and this building is not. Andrew Gottlieb asked if the Natural Resources staff could use the
DPW building to which Mr. York said they can't get in there. Rodney Collins stated that operationally, if the
Town is going to spend $500,000 on the building he would want to do it right rather than cut a corner or two.
2
