BOARD MEMBER COMMITTEE UPDATES
Cape Cod Commission-There would be a meeting tomorrow.
Community Preservation Committee-The Chair reported that there were three applications
that did not make the Warrant, including the Armenian Church site land purchase and the Housing
Authority purchase of a rental home. One of the Articles would provide $300,000 to the Affordable
Housing Trust, to be used at their discretion and also the restoration of the Parsonage. Mr. Hansen
inquired about the shared expense with the Tribe and Mr. Weeden confirmed that, in order for it to
move forward, conditions had been identified, including an MOU between the Tribe and the Town,
detailing public benefit, preservation restriction and distribution of funds. Mr. Weeden estimated that
the restoration would likely total approximately $750,000-$800,000, and hoped to use the CPC funding
to leverage additional grant funds from other sources. Mr. Weeden was also awaiting word on a grant
he pursued to fund a feasibility assessment. Mr. Hansen inquired whether the Article was for the funds
and the Chair responded that the Town would hold the funds while milestones were being identified by
the Board of Selectmen through the MOU. It was noted that the funds would return if the MOU was
not established. The Chair agreed that the CPC funding would be beneficial for the Tribe to acquire
funds from other sources. The Chair noted that additional Articles included $45,000 for the
Community Gardens, funds for the basketball court at Attaquin Park, funds for a war memorial and
$330,000 for the Housing Authority's rental assistance program.
Design Review Committee-No update
Plan Review-No update
Environmental Oversight Committee-No meeting
Greenway Project & Quashnet Footbridge-No meeting
Historic District Commission-No meeting
MMR Military Civilian Community Council-MMR Joint Land Use Study-No update
UPDATES FROM TOWN PLANNER
No update
ADDITIONAL TOPICS
ADJOURNMENT
MOTION: Mr. Balzarini made a motion to adjourn.
