performing properly but they need to do some removal on the back side of the pilings.
They will be communicating that and working together which includes taking a look at
the sand to make sure there is no cobble in it. Matt said the Agent and he sat down and
went thru his concerns and came up with a game plan. Most of it is coordination and
communication. The Agent noted up on the embankment he saw head size plus stones
which are coming somewhere from the sand that is being put down. It continues to
concern him because it will definitely have an impact. He stated he or one of his staff
needs to be there when sand is being deposited over the bank. He wants to have
increased contact with his department at least 7 days prior to nourishment taking place.
The Agent said he wants to make sure it stops 100%. Its being placed there and its not
acceptable and the only way to stop it is us going there and directly observing the sand
going over the bank. Matt said it is something we want to keep an eye on and stated he
put together a memorandum of understanding and hopefully it outlines everything and if
there is anything, he missed to please let him know.
Proposal: IT pricing breakdown to purchase tablets for Commissioners to use at the
meetings
The Agent stated IT will be ordering one tablet to see how it works and if it is something
the Commissioners would like to use, we can go from there.
Update: New Seabury storm water infrastructure
Brad Sweet stated right now there are 594 storm drains within New Seabury and there is about 9 to
10 of storm drains that go to light. He said all the storm drains are cleaned in December. There is
not a lot of construction going on but some of the new construction is flooded. It was suggested to
create a memorandum of understanding as there needs to be some kind of organized approach.
Following a lengthy discussion, the commissioners agreed that It seems reasonable to ask for a
survey to see if there are any storm drains that are at risk of doing significant damage to wetland
areas and prioritize those that are affecting salt marshes. Brad said he will talk to New Seabury anc
ask them to come back with a plan to make sure they are in compliance with regulations.
Enforcement Order: 91 Edgewater Road compliance and new violation. Agent recommendations
for compliance
The Agent stated the $150 fine was paid and the homeowner is in the process of finding a certified
landscaper to do the monitoring and maintenance.
Motion: Mr. Sweet moved to adjourn, seconded by Mr. Dalton. Vote unanimous 4-0
Respectfully Submitted,
Judy Daigneault (transcribed from tape)
