Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> June 3, 2019 <br /> Presentation on Joint Base Cape Cod: Base Commanders: <br /> The Board of Selectmen met with Joint Base Cape Cod Base Commanders from the following; <br /> Massachusetts National Guard <br /> JBCC Executive Director—BG Chris Faux <br /> JBCC Executive Officer—Paul Rendon <br /> Army National Guard—Camp Edwards <br /> Colonel Patrick Keefe <br /> Air National Guard— 102nd Intelligence Wing <br /> Colonel Virginia Gaglio <br /> Air Force—6th Space Warning Squadron <br /> Lieutenant Colonel James Roberts <br /> Coast Guard <br /> Base Cape Cod—Captain Michael Hudson <br /> Air Station Cape Cod—Captain Scott Langum <br /> A PowerPoint presentation of Base operations was presented for ease of review. (Enclosure) <br /> Of interest is Management as it relates to the Joint Installation Partnership Agreement and Joint Oversight <br /> Group. With regards to the Joint Installation Partnership Agreement it was disclosed that a Letter of Intent <br /> has been received from the Town of Barnstable regarding water and wastewater operations. This matter is <br /> expected to be decided upon by the Air National Guard Bureau in Washington, D.C. <br /> Joint Base Cape Cod is noted to employ 4,751 employees (FYI 8). Items of interest include the Police and <br /> Fire Academies, the utilities and land, and future vision for JBCC. With respect to utilities, appreciation was <br /> given to the Base Commander on a professional level for assistance as the Town of Mashpee may be <br /> approaching the Board for a Joint Powers Agreement as a way to move forward in a cost effective manner. <br /> Discussion followed with respect to training, safety and services provided. A vision of the facility is to draw <br /> military from the region as well as the communities for regional training. Representatives of Joint Base Cape <br /> Cod were highly supportive of the Mashpee community and of the neighboring towns as was the Town of <br /> Mashpee Officials for their continued support and professionalism. <br /> COMMUNICATIONS & CORRESPONDENCE <br /> Mashpee Historical Commission Award Night: <br /> It was announced the Mashpee Historical Commission is awarding its first Annual Historical Commission <br /> Awards Day. Earl Mills will be honored for his influences to the history of the Town of Mashpee and for his <br /> involvement in the preservation of the Mashpee Parsonage. <br /> The ceremony is scheduled to be held on June 15, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Mashpee Archives/Community <br /> Park. Frank Lord will also be recognized for his dedicated assistance to the One Room Schoolhouse. <br /> 7 <br />
