Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> June 3, 2019 <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Discussion and Approval of Bond Anticipation Note (BAN): Treasurer/Tax Collector Craig_Ma <br /> Craig Mayen, Treasurer/Tax Collector was in attendance to request the Board of Selectmen approve a Bond <br /> Anticipation Note (BAN) in the amount of$75,000 to begin the start of the Pimlico Pond Road project and to <br /> make payment on final costs associated to the Quashnet School construction project. <br /> The small BAN is a necessary requirement of the Department of Revenue to ensure the Certified Free <br /> Cash is not reduced at the end of the fiscal year. <br /> Motion made by Selectman O'Hara to authorize the BAN in the amount of$75,000 as recommended. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Sherman. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 3-0. <br /> Roll Call vote: <br /> Selectman Gottlieb,yes Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Sherman,yes <br /> Opposed, none <br /> Discussion and Approval of the Following Special Event& Temporary Sign Permit: <br /> Community Health Center of Cape Cod Inaugural 5K Run/Walk: Christopher Ellis: <br /> A Special Event and Temporary Sign Permit Application was presented to the Board of Selectmen <br /> by Christopher Ellis of the Community Health Center of Cape Cod for the Inaugural 5k Fun Run/Walk <br /> planned to be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a rain date of August 14, <br /> 2019. <br /> Approximately 150 participants would attend the event proposed to begin and end at the Community Health <br /> Center of Cape Cod parking lot located at 107 Commercial Street, Mashpee where there is ample parking. <br /> A Temporary Sign Permit Application would announce the event, and allow for signage to promote <br /> awareness, to signify mile markers and give recognition to race sponsors. A road closure is requested during <br /> the allotted time for Mercantile and Commercial Streets. <br /> Discussion followed with respect to the timing of the event and the safety of runners and walkers during the <br /> busy summer season. As the components of the race was considered, it was recommended the applicant <br /> modify the date to September. <br /> It was agreed the Community Health Center of Cape Cod would meet with the Board of Selectmen at their <br /> June 17, 2019 meeting to review an amended date. Town Manager Rodney C. Collins was directed to <br /> discuss the alternative date and specifics of the race with the Mashpee Police Department before the next <br /> meeting. <br /> The Special Event and Temporary Sign Permit Application is considered open and held for additional review. <br /> 8 <br />
