2 <br /> Community Preservation Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> January 24, 2019 <br /> Present: Andrew Gottlieb, Brian Hyde, Richard Halpern, Ed Larkin, Mary Waygan, <br /> David Harsch, Chad Smith <br /> Absent: Dawn Thayer, Tony Pizzo <br /> Meeting Called to Order by Chairman Gottlieb at 6:30 p.m. <br /> Mashpee Town Hall, Waquoit Bay Meeting Room <br /> MINUTES <br /> Tuesday, December 18, 2018 Regular Session: <br /> Motion made by Mr. Smith to approve the minutes of Tuesday, December 18, 2018 as <br /> presented. <br /> Motion seconded by Mr. Halpern. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 6-0-1. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Mr. Gottlieb,yes Mr. Hyde,yes Mr. Halpern,yes Mr. Larkin, abstained <br /> Ms. Waygan,yes Mr. Harsch,yes Mr. Smith,yes Opposed, none <br /> PUBLIC COMMENT—None at this time. <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS <br /> Mashpee War Monument Project—Design Development/Cost Estimates; Ava Costello Mashpee <br /> Historical Commission Catherine Laurent Director of Public Works: <br /> Ava Costello, Chair of the Mashpee Historical Commission was in attendance with Catherine <br /> Laurent, Director of Public Works to review the design development and costs estimates <br /> associated to the Mashpee War Monument project which includes enhancements to the existing <br /> Veterans Garden. Historical Commission member Richard DeSorgher was also present. <br /> With CPA funding in May of 2018 VHB, the initial designers of the Community Park developed <br /> a conceptual design with cost estimates to locate the Mashpee War Monument proposed to honor <br /> and recognize all veterans from the Town of Mashpee who gave their service and sacrifice to our <br /> country. <br /> Members of the Mashpee community with representation from the Town, the Mashpee <br /> Wampanoag Tribe, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Community Park Committee, Historic District <br /> Commission, and others gave input into the design of the structure. <br />
