Both times, the height was at 55.7 ft.
above sea level. There were 17 and 19.5 inches of water flowing over the board closest to the lake and
13.5 and 14.5 inches of water in the stream. Barbara measured 5.2 inches of water in her rain gauge.
Levels were reported to Drew McManus in Conservation. On May 17t", Drew pulled additional boards
from the Mill Pond side of the ladder to increase outflow. When asked about the recent road work, he
stated that he did not think it interfered with ladder flow.
Barbara noted a small article in the CCT regarding Mashpee Police fearing a hazmat scene when they
noted a man dumping a pail of unknown substance in the river by the museum. The man claimed he had
just dumped the water from his aquarium. Barbara questioned plants or fish dumped in that had dispersed.
Drew had missed the article and he later checked with the police who on June 3`d. told him there were
"No contaminants".
Conclusions: The water level remains high with high precipitation.
[Agenda topic 2]Harbormaster Position Update
Discussion: Jeffrey Smith is the new harbormaster. He has a good background with the Coast Guard.
Barbara noted there was a full classroom at Town Hall yesterday for a boating safety class. We will invite the harbormaster to an upcoming meeting.
Conclusions: The new harbormaster, Jeffrey Smith is now at work.
