r .guy Town oJAIa tepee <br /> Ica Great ek-J�oad Xi�rdi <br /> u �w Mashpee,Massachusetts 02049 <br /> Conservation Commission Minutes <br /> Thursday, July 11th, 2019 <br /> Mashpee Town Hall <br /> Waquoit Bay Meeting Room <br /> Present: Dale McKay, Brad Sweet, Tom O'Neill & Marty Bregman <br /> Also Present: Conservation Agent Andrew McManus <br /> CALL MEETING TO ORDER: 6:00 p.m. <br /> Chair Dale McKay opened the meeting at 6:00 p.m. <br /> Public Comment: No public comment <br /> PRE/POST-HEARING AGENDA: <br /> Minutes: June 27th, 2019 Minutes <br /> Motion: Mr. Sweet moved to approve the June 27th, 2019 minutes, seconded by Tom <br /> O'Neill Vote 4-0 unanimous. <br /> UPDATE: Certification of Pollinator Gardens: The Agent provided an update to the Commission <br /> on the recently certified pollinator gardens established in New Seabury (the Mews area). The <br /> certification was provided by the National Wildlife Federation. The Asst. Agent will be pursuing <br /> similar certification for all five of Mashpee's pollinator gardens. Some additional commentary <br /> amongst the commission members supporting this initiative. <br /> HEARINGS <br /> 6:00 p.m. Richard E. Halpern, 55 Riverside Rd (RDA): Proposed gas main installation and <br /> connection to existing home. Dana Vesty from Tighe and Bond Consulting presented the project <br /> on behalf of National Grid. She described the project as a gas main installation within the road <br /> layout connecting from Riverside Drive to the existing home on the adjoining road called Snug <br /> Harbor. All work will be in the road layout with no disturbances to any existing vegetation. The <br /> Agent inquired about the work timeline and the consultant stated the work should be completed <br /> within a day. All disturbed areas of excavation will be filled back in. <br /> Resource Areas: Land Subject to Coastal Storm Flowage, buffer zone to coastal bank/coastal <br /> beach and Area of Critical Environmental Concern (ACEC)-Hamblin Pond. <br /> No comment from the public. <br /> Motion: Mr. Sweet motioned for a Negative Determination, seconded by Mr. O'Neill. Vote <br /> unanimous 4-0 <br /> 1 <br />
