MASHPEE COMMUNITY GARDEN ADVISORY COMMITTEE (MCGAC) MEETING MINUTES June 19, 2019 -7:00 P.M. MASHPEE TOWN HALL, OCICWAY MEETING ROOM 16 Great Neck Road North Present: Virginia Scharfenberg, Pamela McCarthy, Irene Checkovich, Anthony Oliver, Michael Talbot Absent: Stephanie Simpson, Mohamad Fand CALL TO ORDER Chairman Virginia Scharfenberg opened the meeting at 7:06 p.m. MINUTES of March 20, 2019 and May 15, 2019 were approved. Motion: Michael Talbot moved to approve the March 20, 2019 minutes, seconded by Anthony Oliver. Vote 3-0 (from those present at that meeting) Motion: Irene Checkovich moved to approve the May 15, 2019 minutes, seconded by Anthony Oliver. Vote 5-0 COMMUNICATIONS and CORRESPONDENCE None. REPORTS MCGAC update on web page and Facebook page(Irene) There was a discussion regarding MCGAC's Town web page and MCGAC Facebook page regarding listing of donors. --Suggestion to establish link on Town web page and on MCGAC Facebook page to donors' web pages. List to date would include Mashpee Environmental Coalition, Botello Lumber Co., Tiny Farm (Anthony Oliver),Talbot Ecological Land Care (Michael &Virginia) Mashpee Community Garden plot assignments Update—Nine empty plots remain for gardeners. Suggestions made to call: --Mashpee Village (Ebony Steele, coordinator on site) (Virginia); --Mashpee Housing Authority (Carol Mitchell, Asst. Director; Leila Botsford, staff) (over 55 housing by Transfer Station) (Virginia) --Veterans organization(s) --Ruth Provost, Boys & Girls Club, Kids Garden) (Virginia) --Brian Weeden, Wampanoag youth program (Pamela McCarthy) --Condominium associations Garden repairs The gate was repaired by Anthony. Assuming that DPW will not be available to do garden plot border repairs and that Board members can use those beds as safety precaution if want. Botello's donation Board determined that specific request for$200 worth of items would include: t
