Septic Systems <br /> Mrr, Bannan, Mr. Albert Zuckerkandel and Mr.. jiustice <br /> Straughter were in attendance for this scheduled appointment. <br /> Mr. Bannan informed Board members the site will be tied <br /> into public water in the near future. "We are proposing to <br /> pump the larger 10,000 gallon systems and would' li a to g <br /> forward with the repair method that we undertook with the <br /> and B buildings last fall . " d "We have contacted surrounding , <br /> towns that may be willing- to take some !or all, f the sptage E <br /> for a specified pe iod o of time. 4' <br /> Mr. Greelish cormented any system having to be pumped on <br /> an annual basis to stay alive is probably not adequate.. <br /> "This Board will encourage and support any communication with <br /> Tri-Town as an interim solution to u rap-oust the systems how- <br /> ever, upgrading the systems must be considered. " <br /> Mr. Bannan relayed M. .C.v, is in the process of receiv- <br /> ing a grant from the town for replacement and upgrading the <br /> water system and simultaneously some long term capitalization <br /> for the septic systems, 'This should afford additional fund- <br /> ing to address some eisting problems and some future prob- <br /> lems. <br /> rob- <br /> 1eras. <br /> Mr. McQuaid informed Mr, Hannam the Board of Health is <br /> concerned with groundwater protection.. "I would recommend <br /> representative of the complex prepare ars annual maintenance <br /> program for septage pumping which would ensure no further <br /> emergency failures will occur.. <br /> Mr. Bannon stated, their intentions are to prepare a <br /> maintenance program for annual pumping. <br /> Mr, Greel i h recommended Mr, Bannan retain and engineer <br /> to evaluate the systems which have not been upgraded.
