Commission meeting it was announced that a state official had been consulted on whether or not digitization projects met the criteria to be eligible for Preservation funds. Although many identical projects had recently been funded, the state official indicated that it was a misuse of funds, and therefore could not be approved. The decision of the state was going to be submitted to Mashpee Town Counsel by the Chair of the Community Preservation Committee,who is very supportive of the project. At this time, it remains unclear whether or not the project will remain eligible. The Library Director reported that more and more patrons are coming to the Library during the 9:00 a.m. hour. The LSTA grant to fund programming for job seekers will begin later in the month of January and patrons have signed up for the classes and workshops. The Assistant Director has been working on this project and is also working on the process for loaning wi-ft hotspots. The hotspots will be the beginning of the Library's "Library of Things." The upcoming Legislative Luncheon was discussed and a number of Trustees indicated that they planned to attend and looked forward to the event. . The Library Director is working on a facilitator for the Library's Strategic Planning sessions and hopes to have a candidate to recommend soon. There was a brief discussion of plans for One Book, One Community and how it would tie in with the theme of space and the anniversary of the moon walls. Communications There have not been any recent communications from the Selectmen or the Finance Committee. Next Meeting; 4pm, Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at the Mashpee Library Conference Room. Adjournment Sandra Horsman moved to adjourn the meeting; Ann Macdonald seconded the motion; and the motion was unanimously passed.
