School Committee Meeting <br /> Minutes <br /> May 9, 2018 <br /> Present were: Don Myers, Chris Santos, Geoff Gorman, George Schmidt and Nicole Bartlett. <br /> Also present was Patty DeBoer, Superintendent and Hope Hanscom, Assistant <br /> Superintendent. <br /> II Call Meeting to Order <br /> Mr. Myers called the meeting to order @6:30pm. <br /> III. Approval of Minutes -April 25, 2018 <br /> Mr. Schmidt made a motion, seconded by Mr.Gorman to approve the minutes of April <br /> 25, 2018 as written. <br /> Roll Call Vote: Ms.Bartlett, Mr. Schmidt, Mr. Gorman, Mr. Santos and Mr. Myers; <br /> opposed - none <br /> IV. Representative from the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe <br /> Nitana Hicks updated the Committee on the Tribe's collaboration with the schools. <br /> V. Representative David Vieira and Senator Julian Cyr <br /> Representative Vieira was not able to attend. <br /> State Senator Cyr applauded Frederick Hanna and presented him with a citation from <br /> the state thanking him for serving as the student liaison for the Mashpee Public Schools. <br /> Mr. Cyr updated the committee regarding the legislative items being discussed. <br /> VI. Student Advisory Council - Frederick Hanna III &Skyla Rimple <br /> Frederick Hanna's final meeting with the Committee. He was presented with many well <br /> wishes for his future plans as well as accolades for the wonderful job he did serving as <br /> the student liaison for Mashpee Middle-High School. <br /> VII. Project 351 - MMHS 8th grader Skyla Rimple <br /> Skyla Rimple shared with the Committee her time spent with Project 351. <br /> Skyla will be serving as the new student liaison to the school committee for the Mashpee <br /> Middle-High School. The Committee welcomes Skyla and looks forward to her reports. <br /> VIII. #Enough MMHS Sophomore Stella Bold and Peyton Dauley <br /> Stella Bold and Peyton Dauley presented a brief update on the March 14, 2018 event <br /> which was spearheaded by them. <br /> IX. *Mashpee Middle-High School Program of Studies - Principal Balestracci <br /> 1 <br />
