Minutes of Meeting of
Design Review Committee
Held Tuesday, June 4, 2019
Mashpee Town Hall Popponesset Meeting Room
Joe Cummings, seconded, Miles approved. All were in favor.
Business name: Evergreen Industrial Park
Proiect Address: 11 Evergreen Circle
Owner/Agent: Mark Govoni
Representative: Holmes & McGrath, Inc.
Arch itectlEngineer: Holmes & McGrath, Inc.
Requests: 36 sq. ft. sign to be established in the sign easement
within Lot A.
Mike McGrath, Holmes & McGrath, Inc. represented the request for a sign to be
located at-Evergreen Industrial Park off of Rte. 130 that is a recently approved
eleven (11) lot development. The sign will be situated just to the northwest of the
intersection on Evergreen Circle. The sign was designed by Signarama and it
seems to be appropriate sign for the lot because this is the necessary step before
getting approval from the Planning Board.
Jon confirmed that the total height of the sign is 8 ft., and within the 40 ft.
requirement of 36 sq. ft. Jon asked if there.will be any lighting on the sign.
Joe mentioned that the sign needs to be no closer than 5 ft. of any lot line.
Mark said that there will be plenty of lighting from the first building to illuminate the
sign.
Charlie said that the requirement is to submit the information to the Building
Department. Charlie wanted to make sure the committee understood the
dimensional requirements for the sign as listed under the bylaw§174-50 E (1). The
sign is still within the requested dimensions.
Jon wanted to know if there was any requirement for the tenant sample portion of
the sign. He didn't see anything listed in the bylaws. He has not issues.
Joe Cummings quoted the bylaw§174-55 (C) "One free standing sign is permitted
on each lot provided that it doesn't exceed 40 sq, ft. in sign board area."Joe is all
set.
Miles asked what the construction was for the sign. Mark said; 1" PVC material for
the header and the main sign and back board. Individual tenant panels are 3
millimeter aluminum composite material with vinyl lettering, and the header is 3
colors of vinyl, green and black, 23 carrot sign gold. The posts are 5 x 5 PVC vinyl
sleeves and caps. The top sign is 1 inch PVC material with the header and the
main sign back board. The letter will be painted gold. The street number will be
gold with the black.
Miles would like to see more depth with the lettering on the upper portion of the
sign. He would like to see a routed wood sign and painted lettering.
4
