NEW BUSINESS <br /> • Request from Tax Collector to abate uncollectable taxes on Town Owned <br /> property for Fiscal Year 2019 on: 20 Gia Ln.; 65 Tracy Ln. & 69 Tracy Ln. <br /> Gregg Fraser motioned to abate the uncollectable taxes as listed on 20 Gia Ln.; 65 <br /> Tracy Ln. & 69 Tracy Ln. John Bartos seconded the motion. <br /> VOTE: Yes-3 <br /> Roll Call Vote: Paul Andrews, yes; Gregg Fraser, yes; John Bartos, yes <br /> • Discussion of Exempt Status of condominium units located at Living <br /> Independently Forever (LIFE), 175 Great Neck Road, South <br /> Director Streebel described the recent purchase of condominium units by LIFE <br /> from private individuals and then renting back those units to occupants. While <br /> LIFE might be exempt in its general ownership of the facility and some units <br /> being used for obviously exempt purposes, it wasn't clear if these new <br /> acquisitions and subsequent rentals qualify as an exempt use. Mr. Streebel <br /> recommended not exempting these units at this time and that the assessors <br /> request thorough documentation from LIFE to verify their exempt status. The <br /> Board directed Mr. Streebel to request further documentation for verification. <br /> • Applications for various Personal Exemptions and Tax Deferrals: Report E- <br /> 06262019-G <br /> Gregg Fraser motioned to Grant the Personal Exemptions as listed on report labeled <br /> D-06262019-G. John Bartos seconded the motion. <br /> VOTE: Yes-3 <br /> Roll Call Vote: Paul Andrews, yes; Gregg Fraser, yes; John Bartos, yes <br /> • Application for Clause 17D Exemption: Janice Foden, 94 Shellback Way Unit O <br /> Gregg Fraser motioned to Deny the Personal Exemption for Janice Foden as she did <br /> not qualify. John Bartos seconded the motion. <br /> VOTE: Yes-3 <br /> Roll Call Vote: Paul Andrews, yes; Gregg Fraser, yes; John Bartos, yes <br /> • Application for Clause 41A Tax Deferral: Barbara Butler, 80 Wilann Road <br /> Gregg Fraser motioned to Deny the Tax Deferral for Barbara Butler as she did <br /> not qualify. John Bartos seconded the motion. <br /> VOTE: Yes-3 <br /> Roll Call Vote: Paul Andrews, yes; Gregg Fraser, yes; John Bartos, yes <br /> Additional Topics: <br /> The Director Requested the Board add to their agenda to abate taxes under the Commissioner <br /> of Revenue rules and regulations under Section 8 of Chapter 58 of a Personal Property tax bill <br /> for Quinn's Excavation & Septic, Inc. 39 Bog River Bend. The matter had come to the <br /> attention of the office after the posting of the agenda and it was time sensitive to be processed <br /> timely under statutory deadlines to be fair to the taxpayer. <br /> Gregg Fraser motioned to add the item to the agenda.
