Mashpee Planning and Construction Committee <br /> Minutes of Meeting Held Tuesday, October 1, 2019 <br /> Mashpee Town Hall—Waquoit Meeting Room <br /> Committee Members Present: Steve Cook, Geoff Gorman, and Rachel Hodgman <br /> Absent: Tom O'Neill and Joe Brait <br /> Also Present: Catherine Laurent, DPW <br /> Chairman Steve Cook called the meeting to order at 5:20 p.m. <br /> Approval of Minutes <br /> Steve Cook motioned to accept the minutes of the Meeting of August 27, 2019 as written; and <br /> Rachel Hodgman seconded the motion. <br /> Vote: 2 Yes; 1 abstention <br /> Steve Cook,yes Rachel Hodgman, yes Geoff Gorman, abstain <br /> Old Business <br /> Review of 2021-2026 CIP Requests <br /> The Committee reviewed the final draft of the 6-year Capital Improvement Plan for all Town <br /> properties including the schools. Added since the last meeting is one project at Town Hall as <br /> well as six projects requested by the School Superintendent. <br /> • Town Hall HVAC Valve Replacement: These valves are used for the HVAC system <br /> changeover between heating and cooling. At the start of the last cooling season, one of <br /> the valves failed. A temporary fix was made but this project proposes to replace all six <br /> valves before they fail as they are still original. <br /> • Middle/High School AHU 1 Replacement: AHU1 provides heat and ventilation to two <br /> music classrooms in the C Wing. These classrooms are internal to the building and are <br /> without windows, resulting in uncomfortable temperatures for occupants during the <br /> months at the end and beginning of the school year. A new unit which will provide <br /> heating, cooling, and ventilation to the classrooms is proposed. <br /> • Quashnet School Library AC Installation: The library is used during the summer months <br /> for staff/teacher workshops and training. A separate unit is proposed to provide <br /> cooling. <br /> • KC Coombs School Vestibule: For school security, double locking vestibules at the main <br /> entrance for all schools is proposed. The entrance at the Quashnet School was <br /> completed with the window/roof project. Work at the Middle/High School is being <br /> completed with FY20 CIP funding. At the Coombs School,the existing vestibule does not <br />
