provide the required turning area for handicap accessibility. Design and construction of
a new vestibule is proposed.
• School Security Improvements: Funding was approved in FY20 CIP for additional security
cameras and access control at all three schools. This funding was not sufficient to
complete all work. The exact funding request is still being finalized.
• Middle/High School Library Flooring/HVAC Sound Dampening: New flooring is proposed
for the library. In addition, the ductwork for the HVAC system which is ceiling-mounted
is exposed. While the HVAC system is running, it is noisy, making it difficult to hear
during meetings or other activities held in the library. Modifications to provide
dampening or muffling of the sound are proposed. The exact funding request is still
being finalized.
• Middle/High School Culinary Arts Room Exhaust System:The Culinary Arts classroom
has 4 gas ranges for cooking. She also suggested delaying the QS flooring
replacement to a later year. The Committee reviewed the other projects and agreed to
reschedule those two projects for FY22 as well as the QS Library AC.
Rachel Hodgman motioned to approve the 2021-2026 CIP as amended; and Geoff Gorman
seconded the motion.
Vote: 3 Yes
Steve Cook, yes Rachel Hodgman, yes Geoff Gorman, yes
New Business
Needs Assessment/Location Review for proposed DNR Facility
Catherine has not received proposals yet for this project. Review will be scheduled at the next
meeting for recommendation of award to the Selectmen for their November 4th meeting.
MMHS Athletic Fields Needs Assessment/Master Plan
The Committee reviewed the two proposals received —from Gale Associates and from Huntress
Associates. From their proposals, both have extensive experience and appear to be qualified.
Catherine commented that the proposal from Gale Associates, while a higher price, was more
responsive to the Town's scope; an analysis of the existing fields and usage will be performed
so recommendations can be made based on actual needs. She noted a representative of the
2
