TOWN OF MASHPEE <br /> BOARD OF ASSESSORS -- PUBLIC SESSION <br /> Minutes of the Meeting of Wednesday, May 27, 2009 <br /> Board Members Present: Also Present: <br /> Paul Andrews, Chairman Jason Streebel, Director of Assessing <br /> Sheldon Holzer, Co- Chairman <br /> Gregg Fraser, Clerk <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Chairman Paul Andrews called the meeting to order at 5:45 p.m. <br /> PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> No public comments. <br /> REVIEW OF MINUTES <br /> Sheldon Holzer made a motion to approve, as amended, the minutes from the meeting <br /> held on April 29, 2009. Gregg Fraser seconded the motion. All approved. <br /> BOARD OF ASSESSORS REPORTS <br /> No reports. <br /> DIRECTOR OF ASSESSING REPORT. <br /> 1. Cyclical Inspection Program <br /> Jason Streebel reported that the review that's been undertaken for the past 8 or 10 <br /> months is coming to a close at the end of the month. He said that due to rearranging of <br /> time schedule, we've managed to have it complete 11 months early and this will allow <br /> more time to analyze the data and get it ready for next year's re-evaluation certification. <br /> Jason Streebel informed the Board that an ongoing cyclical inspection program has <br /> been instituted to inspect 1,000+ parcels a year to maintain current data on all Mashpee <br /> properties in conformance with Dept. of Revenue guidelines. <br /> 2. Tax Bills <br /> Jason Streebel reported that the preliminary tax bills will be going out July 1". He is <br /> working with the Tax Collector's office to get the test file going to make sure it will run <br /> smoothly...early indications are that there won't be any problems. <br /> Jason Streebel said they are going to send out Supplemental Tax Bills for the last half of <br /> FY2008 and first half of FY2009 so 2 sets of bills will be going out. <br /> 3. ABT Cases <br /> Jason Streebel stated that all ABT cases mentioned at last meeting will be the next <br /> priority of the office. <br /> 4. Assessor's Forum at Mashpee Town Hall <br /> Jason Streebel invited the Board of Assessors to an Assessor's Forum at Mashpee <br /> Town Hall on June 16"from 9-Noon. Training on the Department of Revenue's <br /> analyzing tool will be offered. The Forum is hosted by the Barnstable County Assessors <br /> Association. <br /> 1 <br />
