Mashpee Middle School <br /> School Council <br /> Minutes — September 22, 2011 <br /> Attendance: Sheila Arnold, Patricia Morano, Kim Daigneault <br /> The meeting convened at 2:1Opm. <br /> Old Business <br /> The group reviewed School council roles and responsibilities as well as open meeting <br /> laws. We also discussed that we needed more parents to join the council. There have <br /> been numerous teacher volunteers for the committee, by rules require more parents than <br /> teachers. Kim will send out more"feeler" to see if we can get one or two more parents <br /> for the council. <br /> New Business <br /> The group discussed the progress of the laptop distribution and use program, as well as <br /> updates for DC Travelers. Important dates were reviewed, and we went over the contents <br /> of the members binders. MMS has applied for grant funding for an upcoming field trip to <br /> the Zeiterion. The Mashpee Cultural Council will let us know if we are eligible for any <br /> monies toward this field trip. The school has received notification that it will receive <br /> $200.00 fro the Big Yellow Bus fund. <br /> The new web site and mass phoning system was explained. <br /> Other: <br /> The field trip to the Patriot Helmet workshop was reviewed, as was the draft of the school <br /> improvement plan and smart goals. Teachers will continuing working on these and a <br /> final version will be brought to the school council at the October 20 meeting. <br /> Meeting was adjourned at 2:37 pm <br />
