Mashpee Middle School <br /> School Council <br /> Minutes — November 4, 2010 <br /> Attendance: Sheila Arnold,Patricia Morano, Sue Curtis, Rewa Melby, Betsy Caldwell, <br /> Kim Daigneault, <br /> The meeting convened at 2:20pm. <br /> Approval of the October 2010 minutes. <br /> The School Improvement plan final copy was reviewed by the council. The three <br /> academic goals involving the increase of one half point in all open response MCAS <br /> questions was explained. Teachers are working on the strategies and ways of meeting <br /> these goals. A goal of school culture and the initiation and implementation of the PBIS <br /> (Positive Behavior Intervention System) was explained. Smart Goals for the plan were <br /> also reviewed. The plan was approved as written, to be passed onto the School <br /> Committee for review. <br /> The Washington DC Trip for 81h graders was reviewed. Update: 105 students are <br /> registered for the trip. Tickets for the raffle will be available for distribution next week. <br /> It was also explained that no student will be kept from going for financial reason. <br /> Allowances and other arrangements can be made. <br /> PBIS Update: the first prize drawing for the students will be the Monday after report <br /> cards are issued. <br /> Other information: The first term ends November 10, 2010 and the first report card will <br /> be issued on November 19, 2010. The Builder's Club raised$368 for Alex' Lemonade <br /> Stand Charity at the Oktoberfest. The G.R.E.A.T. Program was explained to the group <br /> and the Middle School will proceed with the program and Sean Cahill. The program <br /> includes 13 weeks with a specific curriculum. The Middle School will participate in the <br /> Town Christmas Parade on December 11, 2010. Our participants will include the band, <br /> grade 7/8 cabinet, the Builder's Club and the National Junior Honor Society. The <br /> November 23, 2010 71h grade field trip to the Audubon in Wellfleet and the National <br /> Seashore Center was reviewed. <br /> The meeting ended at 3:00 pm. <br />
