Ashley Fisher said the Commission needs to draft a letter to move forward to the Board of <br /> Selectmen, Dick Cook said he'd draft the letter. <br /> Associate Commission Member Vacancy <br /> Ashley Fisher introduced Rachel Fordham and Mark Weissman as possible Associate <br /> Commission Members. <br /> Rachel Fordham recently graduated from college with a degree in Marine Biology.She lives in <br /> Mashpee, has worked here for three summers and would love to be involved in the process of <br /> making things better. <br /> Mark Weissman was on the MA Marine Fishery Commission for 15 years. He's interested in <br /> being an Associate Commissioner and happy to contribute. <br /> Gear Maintenance/2020 growing season preparation <br /> Ashley Fisher said there is a lot of maintenance to do before the growing season, and there's no <br /> indoor place to construct all the gear.She was asking for suggestions/if anyone knew of a <br /> location in town. Mark Weissman said Mercantile Way might be a possibility.A few other places <br /> were suggested, but not feasible. <br /> 2020 Seed Order/Scallops <br /> 11 million quahogs 1.5's; 500K oyster seed singles or 2's; 800 remote set oyster bags(this year's <br /> cost is$18, if they can reduce to last year's price of$15, we'd order 967 bags.) <br /> There is an account set up to accept donations for scallop seed. Working with Falmouth Rod & <br /> Gun club. <br /> Dick Cook moved to purchase the seed order,seconded by Steven Marques. All in favor, <br /> motion passed. <br /> M.S.O.A.: Massachusetts Classification of Mooring Areas <br /> There's a meeting this month, FDA is coming down hard trying to shut down areas for boats and. <br /> moorings. It would shut down our fishery in Mashpee. The State will ask for data from towns <br /> "not in favor". It's the 3`d time on the agenda. <br /> Additional Topics: <br /> (This space is reserved for topics that the Chairman did not reasonably anticipate would be discussed) <br /> Ashley Fisher said we're going to do away with the workshops,we can accomplish everything we need <br /> to do at our monthly meetings. <br /> Aquaculture Regulations Edit(Draft)will be the only new business item at the next meeting. <br /> Mark Weissman suggested we get MA Eelgrass Restoration Program to do work here. Ashley Fisher said <br /> she'll send an email to them. <br /> Adiourn Meeting <br /> Dick Cook moved to adjourn,seconded by Steven Marques.All in favor. <br />
