Board of Selectmen Minutes December 16, 2019 APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS Public Hearing: Request for Temporary Closure: New Seabury Resources Management Inc d/b/a Popponesset Inn: Chris Card: The Board of Selectmen opened the Public Hearing by reading aloud the notice on the request of New Seabury Resources Management, Inc., d/b/a Popponesset Inn, located at 252 Shore Drive, Mashpee, Scott A. Mullen, Manager,to close for deep cleaning and renovations effective January 1, 2020 through April 9, 2020. The Popponesset Inn will temporarily open to host the Boys and Girls Club Awesome Chili Challenge charity event on Saturday, January 25, 2020. Operations will resume April 9, 2020 for functions. A la carte service will start in May and hours will increase beginning in June 2020. Chris Card, President of New Seabury Resources Management, Inc. was in attendance to review the temporary closure request with the Board of Selectmen. Mr. Card indicated that extensive renovations are planned during the closure request. Being no comment, the Board motioned as follows; Motion made by Selectman Sherman to close the Public Hearing. Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. Roll Call Vote: Selectman Gottlieb,yes Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Sherman,yes Selectman Weeden,yes Opposed, none Motion made by Selectman Sherman to approve the request of New Seabury Resources Management, Inc., d/b/a Popponesset Inn, 252 Shore Drive to temporary close effective January 1,2020 through April 9,2020 with the exception of the opening for the Boys and Girls Club annual event on January 25, 2020.
