3 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> January 6, 2020 <br /> APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS <br /> Public Comment: (continued) <br /> Sharon DiFrancesco and Diane Scanlon commented on the matter of the proposed cell tower and urged <br /> the Board of Selectmen to walk away from the contract with Blue Sky Towers to review the alternatives <br /> for the health and safety of the residents. <br /> Discussion and Approval of Special Event: Grandparents Day Run/Walk, Saturday, September 12, <br /> 2020. 9 am— 10 am: Cape Cod Children's Museum, Lauren Fancher: <br /> A Special Event Application from the Cape Cod Children's Museum was before the Board for the first <br /> Grandparent's Day Run/Walk planned to be held on Saturday, September 12, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to <br /> 10:00 a.m. The Run/Walk would begin at the museum heading north on Great Neck Road South for 1.5 <br /> miles with a return to the Children's Museum. The rain date is September 20, 2020. <br /> Lauren Fancher was in attendance to review the specifics of the event with the Board of Selectmen. <br /> Approximately 150-200 people are anticipated to attend the fundraiser. Applicable Department Heads <br /> have approved the application with stipulations imposed by the Department of Public Works. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cotton to approve the Special Event Application of the Cape Cod <br /> Children's Museum for the Grandparents Day Run/Walk as presented. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Gottlieb,yes Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman O'Hara,yes <br /> Selectman Sherman,yes Opposed, none <br /> Public Hearing: Secondhand, Junk and Salvage Dealer License; Sachs Jewelers of Mashpee, Inc. <br /> 38 Nathan Ellis Highway, Mashpee Commons: Nicholas Sachs: <br /> The Board of Selectmen opened the Public Hearing on the Application of Nicholas Sachs to operate a <br /> Second-Hand Dealers License at Sachs Jewelers of Mashpee, Inc., located at 38 Nathan Ellis Highway, <br /> Mashpee, MA. In accordance with posting procedures, the Hearing notice was read aloud into the record. <br /> Nicholas Sachs was in attendance to discuss the Secondhand, Junk and Salvage Dealer License <br /> application with the Board of Selectmen. Mr. Sachs indicated he anticipates selling secondhand jewelry <br /> and gold/metal at his business operation. If approved, this is the only Secondhand, Junk and Salvage <br /> Dealer License granted in the Town of Mashpee. <br /> Mr. Sach stated that he has been a good neighbor operating the jewelry store at the Mashpee site location. <br /> For transparency he is seeking the Secondhand, Junk and Salvage Dealer License. Sales would include <br /> retail online jewelry business, buy and sell. All retail transactions shall be recorded and maintained. <br />
