Town of Mashpee Sewer Commission Minutes 11/7/19 <br /> 16 Great Neck Road North, Mashpee, MA 02649 <br /> Mashpee Town Hall, Popponesett Meeting Room <br /> Attendance: <br /> Members: Tom Fudala, Ken Dunn, Brad Pittsley, Joe Lyons <br /> Public: Mary Waygan, Anne Malone <br /> Convene time: 6:18pm <br /> Approval of minutes: November 16, 2017, October 25 &November 15, 2018 and October 17, <br /> 2019 <br /> Brad Pittsley moved to accept the October 17,2019 minutes. Joe Lyons seconded. <br /> All in favor. <br /> Status of Final Plan: <br /> -No implementation begun other than limited shellfish propagation and WWTP preliminary <br /> design. <br /> - JBCC shared facility proposal: October Town Meeting approved $250,000 towards study. <br /> GHD WWTP Preliminary Design project: <br /> - Approval of Value Engineering Consultant contract with Weston& Sampson. Town Manager <br /> requested we vote to approve. <br /> Brad Pittlsey moved we provide the Town Manager with the approval of his request that <br /> we view and recommend the Weston & Sampson proposal. Joe Lyons seconded. All in <br /> favor. <br /> Tom Fudala will send a copy of the contract signed by The Commission to the Town Manager. <br /> Status of other tasks: <br /> - Shellfish(any report from Rick York). No comments. <br /> Recommendation re: Selectmen appointment of new Commission Member: <br /> - Anne Malone as Precinct 2 Commissioner <br /> Tom Fudala introduced Anne Malone to the group and invited people to ask questions. <br /> Tom Fudala: Why do you want to be on the Commission? <br /> Anne Malone: I'm relatively new to the area, I looked around and this is where all the action is. I <br /> wanted to contribute and learn something. <br /> Joe Lyons: Have you read the entire plan? <br /> Anne Malone: Yes. <br /> Joe Lyons: Have you read the JBCC plan? <br /> Anne Malone: No. <br /> Joe Lyons: I suggest you read that for better perspective to see the improbability that JBCC would <br /> ever help us. There are 25 bases that brought in private contractors to run their septic systems. 14 <br /> are run by American Waters, 11 by American States Water. The Federal Government has never <br /> allowed wastewater to be piped in, there's no reason for the Government to do it. The ownership <br /> is in question and the disposal area is insufficient at this time, doesn't have the infrastructure to <br />
