going to have to pay to get a pipe run to the house and subject to regular charges for the use of
the sewer.
Joe Lyons said we don't want to have a betterment for the infrastructure, period. The betterment
could be used for the people required to tie up to the pipe the town paid for to connect to the
house. It's private property, this way the Town can negotiate with a substantial company to do it
correctly to all of these houses, rather than people go through knee jerk people installing this
stuff. It's nothing but trouble. This is an equitable way to install where they are legally required
to.
Tom Fudala said we'd have to see if we can legally put the connection on a betterment. I agree
with what Joe's saying, we just have to see if it's legal. Brad Pittsley asked if it's legal for us to
say that people have to use"our" contractor? Tom Fudala said that's a good question; we could
offer through a betterment, but if someone opted not to, they'd have to meet certain standards.
Ken Dunn asked what the cost would be. Joe Lyons said that's a question that needs to be
answered. Who do I contact to find out what that is? We don't have to reinvent the wheel.
Tom Fudala named a few people from other towns that Joe Lyons could contact.
Joe Lyons recapped Andy Gottlieb's request, ended with saying there is a logical and ethical way
to come up with a rate policy until the system is fully up and running. Then we can have actual
numbers. There was further discussion about how to arrive at the costs. Tom Fudala ended by
saying we discussed the questions from Andy Gottlieb. Joe Lyons asked that Tom Fudala email
the Commission members what he sends to Andy Gottlieb.
Correspondence-none
Adjournment
Brad Pittsley moved to adjourn,Joe Lyons seconded. All in favor.
Meeting adjourned at 7:26pm
Respectfully submitted,
Katrina Ewing
Board Secretary
