MOTION: Ms. Johnson-Graham made a motion to add Ms. Brown as a non-voting member of
the MIDC. Ms. G. Wilson seconded the motion. All voted unanimously.
The Chair would be following up with Wayne Taylor because Mr. Fand worked at night and would not
be available to attend the Board of Selectmen meeting. There was discussion about developing a
welcoming environment and sense of belonging for newcomers to Mashpee.
Report for Town Meeting-The Chair felt that the Report for Town Meeting would be good for
visibility for the Committee and asked if she could forward a draft to Ms. Waterman, Ms. G. Wilson,
Ms. DeBoer and Ms. Landry for their edits, due to their experience. The Chair would like to have the
report approved at the February 4 meeting. Included within the report would be the Committee's
history, purpose, accomplishments and acknowledgements.
Plans for February 4-The Chair suggested inviting other similar committees, from other
communities, to work together and create a consortium. There was discussion about inviting Rabbi
Freeland, Eileen Elias, Woods Hole Diversity Committee, Barnstable and the Human Rights
Commission to attend the next meeting.
ADDITIONAL TOPICS
Ms. Johnson-Graham announced a fundraising basketball game and scholarship she was organizing to
honor the memory of her sister. The event would take place during April vacation at the Tribal Center
and would feature Celtics player Jayson Tatum. The scholarship would be awarded to a high school
senior.
MEETING ADJOURNMENT
MOTION: Ms. Johnson-Graham made a motion to adjourn. Ms. S.Wilson seconded the
motion.
