School Committee Business Meeting December 11, 2019 Minutes In attendance were: Nicole Bartlett (chairing meeting), Chris Santos and Don Myers. Also in attendance were Patricia DeBoer, Hope Hanscom and Paul Funk. Absent: Geoff Gorman and George Schmidt. 1. Call Regular Meeting to Order/Pledge of Allegiance Mrs. Bartlett called the meeting to order at 5:34 pm. 2. *Ratify agenda of December 11, 2019 Mr. Santos made a motion, seconded by Mr. Myers to ratify the agenda of December 11, 2019. Roll Call Vote: In favor- Mr. Santos, Mr. Myers and Mrs. Bartlett; opposed - none. Passed unanimously. 3. Public Comment Phyllis Sprout spoke briefly and requested that Mashpee's policy reflect (if one does not already exist), an opt-out provision regarding religious assignment. 4. Coombs School Share Out Principal Paul LaBelle and Kim Palmer(KCC art teacher) described cross-age student teaching that occurs between Mrs. Amanda Hough's (MHS tech teacher) middle and high school students who worked with Mrs. Palmer's students creating a mini-golf course for Beebot robots. Second grade Techsperts Karina Russo and Sean Hough demonstrated use of the course and the robot course housed underneath the golf green and explained how the Beebots were coded. 5. Report of Student Representative Skyla Rimple Skyla Rimple reported on the happenings at MPS. 6. *MMHS Student Trip Abroad (Spring 2021)-Debra Troyanos (art teacher) and Andy Troyanos (music teacher Mr. and Mrs. Troyanos presented their request to run an international trip to Italy and France in the Spring of 2021 during school April vacation. Mr. Myers made a motion, seconded by Mr. Santos to approve the student trip to Italy and France for April 17, 2021 -April 25, 2021. Roll Call Vote: In favor- Mr. Santos, Mr. Myers and Mrs. Bartlett; opposed - none. Passed unanimously. 7. *Approval of November 20, 2019 minutes Mr. Myers made a motion, seconded by Mr. Santos to approve the minutes of November 20, 2019, as presented. 1.
