School Committee Meeting <br /> 11/20/2019 <br /> Minutes <br /> Present were: Nicole Bartlett, Don Myers, George Schmidt, Geoff Gorman (remote by phone), <br /> absent: Chris Santos. Also present was Patricia DeBoer, Dr. Hope Hanscom and Paul Funk. <br /> 1. Call Regular Meeting to Order/Pledge of Allegiance <br /> Ms. Bartlett, vice-chair called the meeting to order at 5:32 pm. <br /> 2. *Ratify Agenda of November 20, 2019 <br /> Change time of Executive Session to 8:03 pm due to a clerical error on agenda. <br /> Mr. Myers, made a motion, seconded by Mr. Schmidt to ratify agenda with above <br /> amendment. <br /> Roll Call Vote: In favor- Mr. Myers, Mr. Schmidt, Ms. Bartlett and Mr. Gorman; opposed <br /> - none. <br /> 3. Public Comment <br /> None <br /> 4. Presentation of MASS Certificate of Academic Excellence to Peter Gonzalez <br /> Mrs. DeBoer shared highlights, attributes and future plans of 12th grader Peter Gonzalez <br /> and presented him with the MASS Certificate of Academic Excellence. <br /> 5. Quashnet School Share-Out-Principal O'Brien and guests <br /> Mrs. O'Brien, Mrs. Emery and Deputy Cahill shared information about the new Quashnet <br /> Cares supplemental food project which provides families with food, household goods, <br /> and other necessities. Families can come through a private entrance and "shop"for <br /> what they need. QS is also providing Cape Kid Meals: send good home with families <br /> for weekends and vacations. No requirement to demonstrative financial need, families <br /> just need to let QS office know they are in need and backpacks go home over the <br /> weekend/vacation. <br /> 6. Report of the Student Representative Skyla Rimple <br /> Slyla provided an update of happenings at Mashpee Middle-High School <br /> 7. Approval of October 16, 2019 Minutes <br /> Mr. Schmidt made a motion, seconded by Mr. Myers to approve the minutes of October <br /> 16, 2019 with the corrections discussed. <br /> Roll Call Vote: In favor- Mr. Myers, Mr. Schmidt, Ms. Bartlett and Mr. Gorman; opposed <br /> - none. <br />
