Department has had had supply requests from a local funeral home and long-term care facilities, <br /> which were forwarded to the state. There have been numerous calls to the office from people <br /> with potential exposure. Health Agents have been communicating with the County Health <br /> Department and Cape Cod Healthcare; updating the Health Department and Town web pages <br /> with current info; and participating in conference calls with various state and local agencies. Ms. <br /> Gardipe commented that there were 328 cases in Massachusetts as a whole,five confirmed cases <br /> on the Cape, and none in Mashpee. She had reached out to Stop & Shop to discuss current <br /> protocols;disseminated information on crisis counseling resources; communicated with our VNA <br /> representative; continually updating the Coronavirus webpage for Mashpee. She stated that all <br /> Town offices were closed to the public, per the Town Manager. She communicated with food <br /> establishments regarding the Governor's ban on gatherings of over 25 people, and the need to <br /> limit food service to take-out/delivery only. All Town employees had been advised of precautions <br /> to avoid getting sick. Mr. Harrington had put together a Mashpee Coronavirus Response Plan <br /> which he had just recently presented to the Board of Selectmen. There had been discussion with <br /> the IT staff about accessing voicemails remotely, setting up conference calls and remote access <br /> capabilities, and ensuring work-from-home resources for employees should that need arise. A <br /> request had also been submitted to the County for funding to cover any increase,in expenses for <br /> the current VNA contract. Surplus H1N1 supplies had been offered to the County. <br /> Mr.Harrington stated that,with majority of permitting being done electronically,daily operations <br /> have not slowed down. There is a drop box at Town Hall for paper documents, Health Agents are <br /> still doing food and septic inspections,and it is business as usual. <br /> Chair Baumgaertel asked if any action had been taken on the Town playgrounds, but Mr. <br /> Harrington had not heard back from the Recreation Department or the Town Manager, He did <br /> state that, in his opinion, the playgrounds need to be closed to the public. Mr. Harrington had <br /> not heard anything on daycare facilities,as they are not permitted by the Board of Health and are <br /> under a different division of the state. Chair Baumgaertel inquired if there was any rental or <br /> mortgage payment assistance available through Human Services,and Ms.Warden answered that <br /> the Human Services Committee does not have any funding for that. <br /> At this point,Chair Baumgaertel opened the discussion to public comment call-ins,but there were <br /> none. <br /> NEXT MEETING <br /> The next meeting of the Board of Health was scheduled for Thursday,April 2,2020 at 7:00 PM. <br /> There being no further business, Mallory Langler moved to adjourn the Public Session Meeting of the <br /> Board of Health at 8:50 PM.
