MASHPEE ENVIRONMENTAL OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE <br /> MEETING MINUTES <br /> FEBRUARY 121",2020- 6:30 P.M. <br /> MASHPEE TOWN HALL-POPPONESSET MEETING ROOM <br /> 16 Great Neck Road North <br /> Present: Ashley Fisher, Katelyn Cadoret, Rick York, Tom Hoppensteadt, Joe Cummings, Dale McKay, <br /> Andrew Gottlieb <br /> Public: Ryan Spencer, Mary Waygan <br /> CALL TO ORDER 6:30pm <br /> APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES: December 11, 2019 & January 8t",2020 <br /> Motion: Mr. McKay moved to approve the 12/11/19 minutes with amendments,Ms. Fisher seconded. <br /> Vote: 6-0 unanimous <br /> Motion: Mr. McKay moved to approve the 1/8/20 minutes with amendments,Ms. Fisher seconded. <br /> Vote: 6-0 unanimous <br /> COMMUNICATIONS & CORRESPONDENCE <br /> Ms. Cadoret said she spoke with Andy Marks from the Water District and he is on board with potential <br /> water-bottle filling stations in town. Dr. Madhavi Venkatesan would also help if we ever take on this <br /> endeavor. <br /> There is a meeting in Falmouth on Friday 2/l/20 at 12pm to discuss expanding composting in the town. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> • Submitted Bans: Plastic Straw, Expanded Polystrene <br /> The proposed bans were submitted to the Board of Selectmen for the May Town Meeting on 2/6. <br /> • Outreach for Bans: Public Forum & Fact Sheet <br /> There's an Earth Day event on 4/16/20 that Ms. Cadoret can speak at to explain the reasoning for the <br /> bans. She is putting together a worksheet for EPS and Plastic Straw bans to hand out. Mary Waygan is <br /> planning the event with Mashpee Introverts and would like to speak at our March meeting. <br /> Motion: Mr. Gottlieb moved to have Mary Waygan speak at our next meeting. Mr. Cummings <br /> seconded. <br /> Vote: 7-0 unanimous <br /> Sustainable Practices is planning a Cape-wide beach cleanup on 4/19 for Earth Day. <br /> ACTION ITEMS UPDATE <br /> Mass.
